In Nov. 2014, Mr. Akpotanor performed the leading role of Byron Watson in DRT's 5th Season opening production of "The Watsons Go to Birmingham-1963," from the Newbery & Coretta Scott King Honor Book novel by Christopher Paul Curtis, adapted by Reginald Andre Jackson.

The Devonté Squire Apprentice is paid $1,200 total for working as an actor in a main stage DRT production.

*The first DSA was made possible through a grant from The Mary Duke Biddle Foundation
